Spalted Maple Bread Bowl
This maple bowl is turned from what was left of a tree which died in my next door neighbor’s yard several years ago. They just cut the trnk down in the spring, and I barely got to the wood before it was too checked to use. The “spalting” is caused by a fungus in the wood. I call it a bread bowl because of it’s size, about 12 inches in diameter and about 6 inches high, but honestly a bread bowl should be a little bigger. Maybe it can be a popcorn bowl.
